How we store your data
What we store
Your email. If you answered the questions after leaving your email, your answers too: what price you would pay, your level and the month of your exam. We also note where you came from, for example a link in an ad.
If you checked a letter: the text of the letter, the task you chose, the result of the check and where you came from, for example a link in an ad. We also save a cookie with a random number in your browser, so we remember that the free check has been used. We do not store your IP address. We only store a code that cannot be turned back into the address, so that one connection cannot check too many letters.
Why
To write to you once, when you can check more letters. Your answers help us decide what the service should be like and how much it should cost. We store the letter and the result so that you can open the result again with a link. Only you know this link, but anyone you forward it to can open the result. If the same letter is checked again, we show the stored result.
How long we keep it
No longer than 12 months after you leave your email or check a letter. Then we delete your email, answers, letters and results. We delete the IP address code after two days.
Who else sees it
The site runs on servers of the company Cloudflare. It stores the sign-ups for us and checks that a person, not a program, sends the form. Sometimes it asks you to tick a box for this. Cloudflare also counts visits to the site: we only see total numbers, without names or emails. To find mistakes, we send the text of your letter to Claude, a language model made by the company Anthropic (USA). So please do not put real personal details in your letter: passport number, address, phone. We do not pass your data to anyone else and do not sell it.
Cookies
Two. The letter check page saves the first one. It holds a random number for your browser, so we remember the free check. The second one remembers which language you read the site in. Both are kept for up to a year. There are no advertising cookies.
How to delete your data
Write to contact@rakstam.lv, and we will delete your address, answers and checked letters. You can also ask for a copy of your data or ask us to correct your address.
We store your data with your consent (GDPR, the European data protection law, Article 6(1)(a)). You give consent when you press “Send my request” or “Notify me”. We check your letter because you ask us to when you press “Check” (Article 6(1)(b)). The cookie and the IP address code protect the free check from abuse (Article 6(1)(f), legitimate interest). You can withdraw your consent at any time: just write to the same address. If you think we have violated your rights, you can complain to the Data State Inspectorate of Latvia (Datu valsts inspekcija).
